About the 4ZDM cluster webinar
The 4ZDM cluster of EU-funded zero-defect manufacturing (ZDM) projects and the European Factories of the Future Research Association (EFFRA) co-organized the webinar “Digital Technologies for Zero-Defect Manufacturing” on Wednesday 20th April.
A total number of 170 registered participants and ~114 participants during the webinar.
The key EU projects behind the 4ZDM initiative joined forces to present the latest developments in zero-defect manufacturing and quality control in smart manufacturing. The webinar offered insights into digital manufacturing platforms for connected smart factories, digital solutions for data quality and large-part high precision manufacturing, ZDM architecture, AI-driven sensors, digital twins, and other new methods and instruments for process control.
Ms Rositsa Georgieva, policy adviser, who is one of the project officers from the European Commission (EC), kicked off the series of presentations. Ms Georgieva emphasized the ongoing support for the ZDM topic by the EC, especially the current Horizon Europe programme, aligned with the European Green Deal, with the focus on digitalization, industry, and space. Her opening talk was followed by the presentations of the projects and from EFFRA with the presentation files available below.
The projects within the 4ZDM initiative are working to create a new ecosystem of Industry 4.0 solutions to transform European industry by reducing production costs, production time, errors and scrap. These projects have received EU funding of more than €80 million in total to achieve global industrial leadership, to improve the quality of manufacturing operations and shape the factories of the future.
